EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
Cindy Wolff, LCSW, CASAC, CPP
Cindy Wolff received her Bachelors Degree in psychology from Colby College located in Waterville, Maine. In 2001 she earned a Masters Degree in Social Work from Columbia University School of Social Work located in New York City. Mrs. Wolff is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) as well as a Master Credentialed Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Counselor (CASAC) and a Certified Prevention Professional (CPP) of the State of New York.
Mrs. Wolff has a great deal of experience working with adults and adolescents diagnosed with Substance Use Disorders (SUDs) and their families. She began her career as a foster care/adoption caseworker for St. Vincent’s Services in Brooklyn, New York. She then spent the next twelve years as a clinical therapist, Intake Coordinator, and ultimately as the Coordinator of Adolescent Services at Northwell Health Glen Cove Hospital in the Division of Community Psychiatry and Substance Abuse Services.
Cindy came to Tempo Group in January 2013 as the Associate Director. She was promoted to Executive Director in June 2016. She is committed to working with individuals, families and the community at large on issues related to the education, prevention and treatment of substance use disorders and its co-occurring/related issues, as well as the overall mental and physical health of our Long Island communities.
MEDICAL director
Dr. Fitzgerald Alcindor, MD, FACEP, FAAUCM, FASAM
Fitzgerald Alcindor, MD, FACEP, FAAUCM, FASAM, graduated from SUNY Health Sciences Center at Brooklyn College of Medicine (Downstate Medical Center) with an MD With Distinction In Research degree in 1991. He trained at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine Emergency Medicine Residency Program at Beth Israel Medical Center, NYC. He has held various leadership positions as Director of Emergency Medicine at Peninsula Hospital and Assistant Director of Emergency Medicine at Forest Hills Hospital. He has had academic appointments to NYU School of Medicine, North Shore-Hofstra School of Medicine, Stony Brook University School of Medicine, NYIT-NY College of Osteopathic Medicine as Assistant Professor of Emergency Medicine through his affiliations with the Northwell System and Winthrop University Hospital. He is Board-certified in Addiction Medicine, Emergency Medicine, and Urgent Care Medicine. He has been an educator of medical students, residents, nurses, Nurse Practitioners and Physician Assistants. He is a peer-reviewer for the Annals of Emergency Medicine and the Journal of the American College of Emergency Physicians Open (JACEP Open). He is a member of the American Board of Urgent Care Medicine and the American Academy of Urgent Care Medicine. He is a former columnist in Emergency Physicians Monthly where he wrote about emergencies in the elderly.
Dr. Alcindor has been treating acute addiction crises for the last 20 years in the emergency department. He extended his experience into helping families for 11 years in a General Practice setting in Hempstead, NY, where he cared for the whole family, from the youngest to the oldest old. The last few years, he has concentrated his attention through his private practice toward being part of the army of practitioners who are involved in handling the opioid epidemic that is scourging our nation and our local shores.
Dr. Alcindor is thrilled to be part of Tempo Group to continue the tradition of helping families in crisis.
DIRECTOR OF HEALTH SERVICES
Elaine Squeri, LPN, MA, CASAC
Elaine received her Bachelors Degree in Psychology/Sociology and her Masters of Arts in Health Education from Adelphi University, Garden City, NY. She received her CASAC from RAPT in New Jersey while working at Exponents Drug Treatment in Manhattan where she was the Director of Clinical Services.
Mrs. Squeri holds a degree in nursing from Wyckoff Heights School of Nursing in Brooklyn, NY. Mrs. Squeri works with medically compromised patients who are substance abusers.
Mrs. Squeri came to Tempo Group in 2006 as the Nurse/Administrator. She was promoted shortly after to Director of Health Services/Health Care Coordinator. She works closely with the Tempo Group psychiatrist and patients regarding medical and medication compliance. She finds many of the patients are triple diagnosed with medical issues, mental health issues as well as their substance abuse disorder.
DIRECTOR OF BELLMORE and MERRICK
Robert Meislin, LCSW, BCD
Robert Meislin earned his MSW from New York University School of Social Work in 1978 and has been a practicing psychotherapist for almost 40 years. He studied psychoanalysis, clinical hypnosis and addiction therapy. One of his specialties in addition to the treatment of people with chemical dependency is working with people with panic attacks and anxiety disorders.
Mr. Meislin, prior to joining Tempo Group, taught physicians in a hospital based setting about psychological issues related to patient care such as assessing depression, managing anxiety, evaluating drug abuse and ascertaining family dynamics. He has worked in clinics with a diverse population and wide age range from adolescents to seniors. He has been in private practice since 1980. Bob has delivered countless seminars to professionals as well as the general population on a wide variety of mental health related issues. He is currently the Director of the Merrick Office and is an integral part of the administrative and clinical team.
